Después del #8M: el optimismo

El #8M 2017 colocó un hito en nuestra ya larga historia de feminismos paraguayos, gracias a diversos elementos conjugados en las expresiones simultáneas en varios puntos del país, y en esa multitud de la marcha en Asunción, de magnitud difícil de calcular (10.000 personas es un número que parece ser el de mayor consenso). Otras veces también marchamos en las fechas clave para las mujeres, si bien en los casos más exitosos fuimos quizás unas mil personas y ni por sueños imaginábamos que esta avalancha de manifestantes era posible, que estaba cerca y que sería una de las más grandes manifestaciones sociales en la historia reciente del país.

Claro que habíamos tenido otros momentos memorables. Por ejemplo, en 1991 hicimos una toma momentánea del Congreso, desalojando a los atónitos congresistas que sesionaban, para proceder a una aprobación simbólica –presidida por Line Bareiro– del proyecto de modificación del Código Civil, redactado por Mercedes Sandoval a partir de un proceso participativo, que hasta entonces había sido sometido apenas a la burla de los legisladores. Habremos sido unas 300 mujeres quizás, que habíamos llegado al final de la dictadura stronista organizadas y con propuestas, y que teníamos el obvio enojo ante un país que aún nos consideraba “incapaces relativas de hecho” ante la ley civil. Pero de eso ya pasó más de un cuarto de siglo, más que la edad de parte importante de las manifestantes del pasado 8 de marzo.

Es que el #8M fue un grito mundial de las mujeres, que nos encontró a las paraguayas con capacidad de unirnos, por muchas razones combinadas para obtener un resultado fantástico. Entre ellas, y sin ánimos de exhaustividad, que estamos ante una generación de jóvenes nacidas ya fuera de la dictadura, con nuevos parámetros, lejos del famoso “no te metas”, que vienen de experiencias de masiva movilización exitosa con resultados palpables (como “UNA no te calles” y las tomas de colegios), así como la recuperación de la capacidad general de movilización ciudadana que fue cortada abruptamente con el golpe de 2012 (recordemos los llamados after office, que ya no se pudieron replicar). Además, ha sido también una respuesta ante el tensado permanente de las cuerdas de la paciencia, con casos de machismo extremo e irracional, con hombres rodeados del halo de autoridad aprovechando púlpitos y bancas para emitir ofensas a las mujeres, discriminaciones varias y disculpas ante el acoso y el abuso de poder.

Y, cómo no, también tenemos ya desde el feminismo una importante acumulación, tanto histórica –con antecedentes recuperados desde al menos principios del siglo XX– como reciente. Se trata de un movimiento de ideas y de acción política que sobrepasa en mucho los límites de una o de algunas organizaciones, cuyos cambios palpables pueden verse en leyes, en políticas y en prácticas sociales, pero que revoluciona ante todo las mentalidades, la forma de entender las sociedades y sus relaciones a partir del sexo (de la sexuación de la especie humana) y del género (cómo entendemos dicha sexuación y todo lo que deviene de ella). Y hablamos de feminismo porque el foco del cambio está en las mujeres: es el movimiento que busca modificar el lugar asignado a las mujeres en la sociedad. Y las mujeres son sus protagonistas centrales porque no hay cambios sociales sin sujetos que actúen en primera persona, con voz propia: sin permisos y sin tutelas.

El #8M en Paraguay logró conjugar todo esto de manera brillante, con una organización horizontal y autogestionada, con reuniones previas abiertas y en una plaza, con cada quien aportando lo que mejor podía, con colorido y creatividad.

Ahí tuvieron cabida los temas y las expresiones que cada participante quiso resaltar, sin tabúes, sin prescripciones ni proscripciones. Cuestiones como el aborto legal y seguro (clásico tema “maldito”) marcharon a la par que la paridad y la igualdad del trabajo doméstico. Los derechos coexistieron, sin privilegios: a una vida libre de violencia, al cuidado, a la tierra, al libre tránsito sin acoso, a la educación sexual, a la sexualidad y la reproducción con salud y sin coacciones, a vivir sin discriminaciones, entre otros muchos. Una fiesta que mostró al Paraguay lo que podemos ser con la construcción colectiva y sostenida de las mujeres y de quienes se unen a esta lucha desde una gran diversidad de lugares y posiciones sociales.

Claro que sigue ahí la reacción fundamentalista y patriarcal, al acecho para impedir que esto siga avanzando. El mismo día de la marcha intentaron una convocatoria frente a la Catedral, sin lograr nada significativo. Difundieron luego fotos de una escena teatral ocurrida en Argentina, para intentar avivar el temor y el rechazo ante el cuco del aborto. Pero bueno, a todo eso ya estamos acostumbradas las feministas: van a tener que seguir mintiendo y cada vez menos gente les creerá, porque las narices crecen, eso lo sabemos desde Pinocho. No les va a resultar, porque ellos pelean por privilegios y nosotras peleamos por derechos.

Lo que ahora importa es que somos una fuerza social consolidada, con una historia que honramos y un futuro que seguimos diseñando, que tenemos el desafío de transformar el mundo mientras vamos generando cambios concretos, y que luego del #8M en Paraguay las feministas tenemos el derecho y hasta el compromiso de asumir el optimismo.
